Khaoc Versus – Cover

January 16, 2012

The official name for the web comic is “Khaoc Versus.”  It takes place in the world of The Aftermath. Here is the title page image:

I have to mess around with the site format again, so by the end of the week you should see some changes. I’ll post the first sequential page on Thursday. I’ll just post it like normal if I don’t have everything set up on the site. Hopefully, it won’t be this late in the evening. Please, bear with me as I get the whole thing started.

Update = Updates Soon!

November 26, 2011

I got extremely ill on Tuesday, so I’ve been out of commission since then. I just started the new page today, and I’ll have it up before the end of the weekend.

I barely got off the couch while I was sick, but I did manage to finish one ink sketch. It’s in sharpie and 01 micron. It’s Abram (as  a Toon) and some weird robot machine. I have no clue what it means.

The portrait of Abram was pretty much my first attempt at trying to complete anything in a digital medium. The big difference is that this took me like 15-20 hours in Photoshop, while the Painter image from the last post only took about 5-6 hours. I really think I’ve been converted to the digital medium. I started viewing it as a serious contender for my artistic output last month, and I’m pretty convinced it is for me. I have 20 days or so left in my Painter free trial, so we will see.

Me and my brother are still working on an Aftermath rewrite. Check back for updates.

I’m going to start a new digital piece in Painter tomorrow that hopefully will have the clarity of (parts of) this image, but without the insane hours.

Since I don’t have any new images to post – here is that other one again! Woohoo!

Extras for Submission

Here are the cover and the character portraits that Matt did (Abram, Teeth, Fidlam Benjamin):

Another Quick One

August 19, 2010

This is the next page. It is page 2 of a 15 page scene.

The Famine Ends

August 18, 2010

Here’s the first page in the next scene. We’ll add text and stuff to the final images so they all make sense. Pages should appear more frequently in the next couple of days. Everything has been worked out through the whole issue at this point, and there won’t be any more interruptions.

I worked out a way to do the pages even faster than before. Basically, I go to ink way before the pencils are done and pray I don’t mess up too badly. This page, fully inked, took under six hours. Not bad, but hopefully they will improve as I get more comfortable with the technique.

Next (overdue) Page

August 3, 2010

Here is page 9. I went on a vacation and only managed to finish one page in over a week – like a medouchea.

Page 8 – New Issue

July 24, 2010

I went back to the Anaheim Comic Con style. That means that, after I’m done, I’m going to have to go back and modify a couple pages. Oh well, I think this style is more compelling.
