Good news! The first draft of the script for A Night in Walden Earth is done! It totaled out to 131 pages! I’m really excited to post this because the script was more than a year in the making, and it went through so many versions to get where it is today. My brother and I really put a lot of thought and energy into the whole thing. It still needs to be revised and edited, but, nonetheless, it’s a huge weight off our shoulders.

Here’s something I did over the weekend that I may or may not paint. It’s ballpoint, ink pen, acrylic and marker. The guy in it is known as the Castle Headsman, and is a character in the comic.

Dampurs Kline Test Page

February 16, 2010

This is something I did some time ago as a test image for a comic page. It is in this “train” drawing style I’ve been posting lately. I was looking at it last night and, while pretty rudimentary, it gives a pretty good inkling as to what a finished product may look like. I felt it was the right time to post it considering I actually did most of the work on the train, as well. You can see where I had to fold it in half in order to fit to my clipboard.

The content was taken from a dream I had about this “down on his luck” clown boxer/wrestler named Dampurs Kline. My brother and I actually created a prominent role for Dampurs in the Aftermath. In the time-line, he lives in the pre-Walden era. His story is pretty well developed at this point, and I hope to get to writing it sometime within the next couple years.

Train Image #3

Another Image from the Train

February 13, 2010

Here’s something else I did on the train over the past two days. I worked it through the ballpoint stage and did the marker and acrylic at home. I made it black and white via Photoshop. That’s about it.

This is another version of Abram in his Huu Ball (tentative title was Death Ball – but then so is everything until the script is done) outfit. The Huu ball is the thing struggling in his right arm. He’s kinda striking a pose as if he knows it’s a portrait. Abram, if you didn’t know, is the main character in A Night in Walden Earth – one of many of tales from The Aftermath.

I’ve been working hard on the script. About half way through the first draft.  I’m excited to be finishing up the Walden Earth plot-line, finally. It took a long time to get here, and I feel like my brother and I ended up in the right place.

Something Small

February 7, 2010

I did this little piece on the train to work today – it’s a smooth ride – and finished it when I got home. I like the process a lot. I described it before when I posted the Abram picture in his DeathBall outfit. The only difference is that I didn’t color it. I’m thinking seriously about doing the entire comic with this technique.

I know it’s small, really only a sketch, but I figured I’d post it anyways.

I wish I got a better picture of it, but the camera only lasts for a couple seconds until I can get some new batteries. The guy I drew is named Ludwig, but people call him “Lug.” He’s one of the prisoners that gets trapped in Walden Earth.

What’s going on?

February 5, 2010

Sorry I haven’t posted any new images in a while. I’ve been busy working on the screenplay for “A Night in Walden Earth.” It’s taking up a lot of the free time I have, but I’m making a lot of headway and want to have a finished draft before the end of the month. Considering how good I have been with deadlines thus far, it’ll probably be done sometime in 2011, hehe.

I am working on an ink drawing. It’s from a scene in the script wherein Chrome Dome boots a guy in the head in a robot strip joint. Chrome Dome is this guy that is getting run-through in this picture-

He survives, presumably, haha!

I hope to have it up soon.
